Why Exes Come Back When You’ve Moved On
Neal Shusterman wrote in his novel, UnWholly, “The measure of a man is not how much he suffers in the test, but how he comes out at the end.” I guess based on that quote you can pretty much gauge my answer to the question at hand.
But there are some nuances that must be addressed too.
Relationships fail. It’s a fact of life, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing if you capitalize on it. There were lessons to be learnt that you can enact now. Your experiences can help other people out in their own relationships.
This is information you didn’t have and although it was painful to get to these realizations, that was simply the path you had to take. Sometimes the right path isn’t super smooth and easy. It’s not as if you get to decide how you learn things anyway.
So one reason an ex comes back into your life is because they want back what you used to give them. It could be love, sex, attention or whatever they were there for in the first place.
It’s a pretty straightforward reason. As someone who has gone back to an ex and been visited by ghosts of girlfriends past, this is the most likely reason an ex returns and possibly all other reasons stem from this one.
