This is Why You Haven’t Figured it Out Yet

People have a tendency to make healing and change sound so easy. They make it sound like all you have to do is decide to have the things you want and voila, you’ll have it. And while the decision to have these things is a part of the journey, it’s only a part of the journey.

How exactly are you supposed to figure out how to get to Boston unless you take the first step from where you are right now? You don’t know the terrain, the weather, the people, the obstacles, the detours, your internal desires or your internal fears that will only reveal themselves once you get going on the journey.

But we look at those who have the things we want and wonder how the hell they did it. You question what you’re doing wrong instead of questioning what they were doing right and even what advantages they had in getting to where they are right now.

Heck, sometimes disadvantages can actually be advantages.

Nevertheless, the reason you don’t have the answer to how to change things or how to get the things you want is because you’ve already learnt some stuff along your journey but there’s more things to learn.

You might lament that you’re in pain and all you want is the answer, but stop to consider that that could actually be a part of your problem.
