You might be aware that anytime I stumble across anything online that I find to be deeply useful I decide to share it. Today’s one of those days.

Leo from Actualized.org has shared the five reasons or motives anyone has ever hurt anyone. Let’s get right into it and I’ll share my own thoughts on each.

1. Ignorance

People have the best of intentions but sometimes they fall short because they are fallible. And the reason they are fallible is because they are ignorant. They didn’t know how to care for you. They didn’t know how to meet your needs.

Sometimes when people fail in their relationships with us it isn’t a big deal, but sometimes people mess up so badly that we experience pain and suffering. We take their mistakes personally.

Here’s an example. If you were gay and someone truly believed that you were going to hell because of it, they could reprimand you for it at best or ship you off to conversion camp at worst.

The truth is that this person loves you and wants you to be in heaven, but they are ignorant of the fact that as a gay person you are who you are, just as a straight person simply is who they say they are.

Unfortunately, their love turns sinister when it comes to trying to change you into something you’re not rather…
