Breakups can be difficult. That’s why many people demand closure. Closure, in this context, is all about receiving a “good” explanation as to why things had to end.

The person who is breaking things off never needs closure because they have all the reasons for wanting to end things. It is the person on the receiving end who has to make sense of the relationship’s conclusion.
