How do I know what’s in my subconscious mind?

The subconscious mind has been called the driving force in one’s life. It controls 95% of what happens to us, not only in terms of our biological functions such as breathing, digestion and the like, but also how we experience life itself. Based on our experiences, we perform certain actions and as the old saying goes, what you put out is what you get back. It is the ultimate feedback loop.

According to developmental biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, when we are in our formative years, our brains are insanely receptive to information. So receptive, in fact, that we are essentially hypnotised. When we watch our caregivers, how we are treated by them, the environment that we grow up in, causes the child to believe “this is life.” This is why children can be exposed to languages and learn them easily, but comparatively, adults struggle when learning one new language.

When raised in affluence, that child is hypnotised to always be affluent. When raised in neglect, the child is subconsciously programmed to find caregivers who will abandon them.

Therefore, it would be in our interest to know what’s in our subconscious mind so that we can experience the life we would like to live and take the actions that keep on giving us what we want. And it’s very simple.

Whatever is happening in your life is what is being held and propagated by the subconscious mind.

If your relationships all go in a familiar fashion with men/women that seem almost interchangeable for some specific traits, that is exactly what you believe you should be experiencing. That is what is in your subconscious mind.

If you’re having lunch by yourself and someone strikes up a conversation with you which leads to a lucrative business relationship later, it’s not luck. Chances are similar serendipitous events have happened before. It’s because you’re programmed to know that opportunities find you.

What are the patterns? The recurring events? The never-ending themes? That’s what you’ve been programmed to be and believe.

How to change what’s inside the subconscious mind

When an infant, one’s subconscious mind was programmed through imagination, emotion and repetition, and it is through these same methods that one can reprogram one’s subconscious mind today. The very first step is to know what you want to program your subconscious mind to believe.

The best time to reprogram the subconscious is right before bed or right after waking up because the mind is more accepting of what is being said at those times. Hypnotists famously draw their patients into a sleepy state before they speak suggestions to the patient’s subconscious.

Next, create a scene in your mind where you have the thing you desire. It is imperative that this scene is in the present and not something you will have in the future. It must be had now. You might think that you are lying to yourself. However, in the instance where a father berates his child for being dim-witted despite his child getting decent grades, if the child believes his/her father, her grades will eventually fall and he will be proven right. What he said might not have been true, but because they were accepted as true, they were experienced.

So please embrace and belief things that benefit you!

Also, really feel the joy/peace of mind that comes with having your desire fulfilled. Feeling is a crucial factor when it comes to subconscious programming. Traumas are etched into our minds distinctly for this reason. Emotion is powerful, so use it to your benefit rather than to your detriment or the detriment of others. Words are powerful because they evoke emotion, and if you believe these words, your life will change.

The best way to know if you’re doing it right is, are you having fun? Anytime I’ve done this I have a blast. It naturally feels amazing to be living the life you want, and it’s flooring when you see it come to pass. But before it comes to pass, you see a change in yourself. You aren’t anxious over the desire anymore. Why? Because you have it. No more sabotaging yourself. No more dizzying levels of effort, because if you have to try super hard it implies that there’s a subconscious block to what you desire.

Try this out! It’s worked for only god knows how many people and chances are, we all do this but perhaps without knowing it. When I think back before I knew this stuff formally, I recall doing this type of stuff and getting mixed results because sometimes a step would be missing. Maybe I didn’t really believe or maybe I put the event in the future instead of the present.

Another aspect of this is how to let go of subconscious beliefs, and I will do another post on that in the future.
